I am originally from Pehowa, Haryana. I was born on 30th March 1966 and I was brought up in a Sikh family. We are 5 brothers and 2 sisters. My father is a farmer. I used to work with them on the farm. Evil demonic spirits possessed my two sisters. Someone came and told us about Jesus and then Pastor Prem Masih came to our home and prayed for my sisters and God delivered them.
When we came to know about Jesus Christ, my sisters were released from these spirits. Thus in 1977, my whole family accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior. When I received Jesus Christ, I was 12 years old. After high school, I got a job in Haryana in a milk factory, but I was not happy. Inside something was telling me to serve the Lord. One day, I read a book about Sadhu Kishan Singh. God used this man of God powerfully. His testimony inspired me so I decided to serve just as he had done.
I left my home to start ministry on 21th Jan 1984 when I was 18 years old. I came to Ropar, Punjab and rented a room for 80rs ($2). I had nothing in my home so the first day I slept on the floor without a cot or mattress. Nobody knew me there. I used to distribute literature in the market. I met a sister and her husband who was demon possessed. They shared their problem with me and I shared the Gospel with them. I prayed for him and the Lord delivered him from the evil spirit. So they received Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior. They were very happy and their whole family (5 members) started coming to church. I started my first Sunday service with them. These people shared the Gospel with others and many sick people and demon possessed people started coming to church and the Lord delivered them from their sickness and evil spirits. So church was growing. Our room was very small so we shifted to another place, which also became too small afterwards. Many people started coming to church and God touched them. Some are still with us today.
In 1984 Holy Ghost Ministries was founded by Charan Masih Sahota and was registered under The Government of India in 1994. In the year 1997 we started Light of Life Praise and Worship school for 4 months with a total of 12 students, that was our 1st batch. Till now we have completed 18 batches from which around 1600 students graduated and are working in different parts of India. So then in the year 2014 we started Worship and Music School, which was for one month. In this school we taught them about Worship and they learnt different musical instruments along with singing.
